Understanding Local Climate Risk

In today's activity we are going to work collaboratively to share our memories of extreme weather events in Douglas County. We will use our observations to create a map that shows us where in our community we are at greatest risk from weather events such as wind/tornadoes, floods, heat, extreme cold, and other weather related impacts. 

We will also create a record of the ways in which we make ourselves more weather resilient. By sharing ideas, ways to contact organizations involved in weather-related disaster response and resilience, and talking about what we can do to be more weather resilient we will empower ourselves to better help our families and others in our community with future extreme weather events.
